Domination and a double podium finish for the Team Petter Solberg WRX cars in Belgium

2017 FIA World RX Rallycross Championship / Round 04, Mettet, Belgium, May 12-14, 2017 // Worldwide Copyright: PSRX Volkswagen

Petter Solberg and team mate Johan Kristofferson absolutely dominated the FIA World rally Cross in Belgium with either Peter or Johan setting the fastest time in all the qualifying rounds and the semi-finals. A performance that put the two team mates at the front of the grid for the final.

Once again punctures played a part in events with three punctures over the weekend ruining Petter’s tyre strategy as each driver has a limited number of tyres that they can use over the weekend. In the final, however, it was contact with Timmy Hansen that slowed Petter, Johan raced to the team’s maiden victory and Petter still managed third place, so gold and bronze for Team PSRX and an extended lead in the team Championship.

In the driver’s championship Johan closed the gap on the leader and now sits in second position in the table with Petter just behind in third place. With each round the team have improved and are now the team to beat, with some luck and similar performances both drivers have an excellent chance of leading the championship after the next round in two weeks at Lydden Hill in the UK.

As with Belgium the two Teng Tools backed cars will be cheered on by an enthusiastic group of Teng Tools guests. With both Petter and Johan doing so well and producing some stunning driving both drivers will again be the centre of attention. With Teng Tools being a series sponsor as well there will be plenty of exposure for the famous Teng Tools logo.

The next action is at Lydden Hill on the 26th May, a circuit where Petter Solberg holds the record for the fastest lap and finished second in 2016. This could be the weekend that the Teng Tools backed team take the lead in both the team and the drivers’ championships – watch it live on worldwide TV or on line.
