With the Teng Tools supported VW Polo driven by Swede Johan Kristofferson leading the world championship all eyes will be on Petter Solberg’s team mate this weekend in Holjes, Sweden for the latest round of the FIA World rally Cross Championship.
In 2016 at Holjes, Johan dominated the heats and was second quickest in the semi-final, so he was very disappointed to finish only fifth in the final. This year, however, will be different. He is the driver to beat and goes to Sweden full of confidence after his win at Hell in Norway earlier in June.
“To go into my home World RX round leading the championship is a special, special feeling. Right now, the PSRX Volkswagen Sweden team is working so well. What Petter says about the co-operation is absolutely true; everybody in this team has just one goal and that’s to win. And winning this weekend would be like a dream come true for me. There will be so many Swedish people there, so many people having so many big parties and I want to be joining in with the singing on Sunday night.”
So will this mean that Petter will be out of the lime light – not likely! Petter Solberg is known as Mr Hollywood and that nickname is there for a reason. Not only is he one of the most exciting drivers to watch he is also a real personality with a huge fan base following and cheering him on. Plus of course Petter won the British round at Lydden Hill just four weeks ago and is currently third in the championship. Petter will be looking for a win this weekend just as much as Johan.
With The PSRX team being based just down the road in Torsby, Holjes is the local track for Team PSRX. The circuit is also very close to the border and and there will be a huge amount of local support with many, many thousands of loyal Norwegian and Swedish fans including some Teng Tools guests, all hoping the Team PSRX Super cars can maintain their blistering pace and extend their lead at the top of the team championship as well as more success in the drivers’ Championship.
