SCREWDRIVERS

Screwdrivers in the Teng Tools range have steel alloy TT-MV plus blades. This makes the shaft harder, yet also more flexible. The bi-material handle is designed to suit either your need for power transfer or speed. The range includes more than 100 different screwdrivers and also a number of screwdriver sets.

Range
• Complete range of screwdrivers that covers most needs of a professional user. More than 100 different screwdrivers are included and are available
with slotted, PH, PZ, HEX, TX, TPX as well as square tips, both individually and in a number of sets.
• Screwdrivers with a power through blade and striking head, extra-long screwdrivers with PH and slotted tips.
• Flared or parallel phosphate tips to suit different applications.
• Select the handle for power, size L (triangular shaped) or speed, size M (round) in the most popular sizes: PH2, PZ 2 and slotted.

Handle
• The handle has a unique, ergonomically designed two component grip with a greater volume to give better support, increased comfort and improved power transfer.
• The handle is moulded around the blade, this ensures that all Teng Tools screwdrivers are completely straight and permits much larger wings on the blade, which in turn allows a much greater torque.
• Hole in the handle for tool-securing when working at height, for hanging or for use as a T-handle.

Blade
• Steel alloy blade, TT-MV Plus, gives 20 % greater capacity than standard screwdrivers. Hardness is 59–61 HRC at the same time the material is more flexible.

DO’S AND DONT’S

• THE RIGHT TIP
Use the correct type of screwdriver to suit the size and type of fastening you need to turn and how much torque you need to apply. The larger the handle and the longer the blade the more torque can be applied.

• KEEP IT CLEAN AND DRY
After use always check the tools are clean and dry before putting them away, this will help to avoid problems such as corrosion and moving parts seizing or becoming tight.

• APPLY EXTRA TORQUE CORRECTLY
If extra torque is needed make sure the driver is fitting tightly and securely and use extra torque by creating a T handle by using another screwdriver through the hanging hole. Alternatively on screwdrivers with a hexagon shank use a wrench or spanner to give extra torque.

• USE THE RIGHT HANDLE
Teng Tools screwdrivers have different shaped handles for different applications. A round handle is ideal for transporting screws in and out of the thread, an oval handle gives much greater torque. See page 261 for more information on the options available from Teng Tools.

• DO NOT USE THE WRONG SCREWDRIVER
If the screwdriver does not fit tightly and securely to the screw or fastening check that you have the right size and type of screwdriver.

• DO NOT USE A SCREWDRIVER AS A LEVER
Screwdrivers are designed to apply torque laterally and will bend or break if used as a lever – not only bad for the tool but dangerous as well.

• DO NOT USE ON LIVE ELECTRICS
If you have to work on electrical or electronic equipment disconnect the power supply wherever possible and always use insulated tools even if you believe that the power is off.

• DO NOT USE TOO MUCH POWER
Only apply reasonable force, particularly on small fasternings and TX or TPX fastenings.
