The Legends Cars Cup in France is one of the most competitive championships around with over 30 drivers from Belgium, France and Switzerland competing in identical cars at some of France’s most famous race tracks such as Magny-Cour and Paul Ricard. The bodywork may be reminiscent of the 1930’s but the 1300cc Yamaha engines power these cars to top speeds of 210 kph and from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.7 seconds. With all cars been identical the racing is guaranteed to be fast and furious.
For 2017 Vynckier Tools, the Teng Tools distributor based in Belgium has joined forces with the two car Patze team with drivers David Saeger and Maxime Lieutenant consistently being at or near the front of qualifying and the races. In fact David qualified on pole and despite some engine problems during free practice he went on to win the first round at the Paul Ricard circuit. Maxime took a fifth place in the Sprint race and then partnered David in the endurance race to take pole position but a disappointing fifth place in the race.
The team and the championship will race all over France during the Summer and Autumn of 2017 with the Teng Tools supported team looking to be champions when the final round takes place in October at Magny Cours.
You can follow the Legends Cars Cup live on the internet or watch some of the racing on YouTube – it’s well worth a look as the Teng Tools cars will usually be at the front of the action – often winning.
